Do you often feel fatigued and exhausted for no reason? Liver stress, or simply put excessive buildup of toxins in your body causes your liver to go into overdrive. When it is not functioning at 100%, it also adversely affects your digestion system. As a result, toxins, parasites, and solid waste accumulate and begin to build up in the intestines. The liver cleanse enables the digestion system to better eradicate parasites and expel toxic, fecal matter that has accumulated and adhered to the intestinal walls.

Imagine your liver as your body’s housekeeper and the handy-person in charge of keeping it clean. It is solely responsible for cleaning the body and keeping it free from toxins to keep your internal organs running effectively. Consequently, the more toxins you take in; the more stress your liver suffers.

It is time to give your nonstop working super organ a much-needed break by adding these common and naturally cleansing foods to your diet:

1. Lemon or Lime Juice

Lemon’s natural cleansing abilities rejuvenate the liver. A squeeze of lime juice in a lukewarm glass of water, in the morning, naturally pushes out toxins. Lemon’s acidity wakes up nerves in the digestive system and liver to encourage good digestion and optimal bowel movements.

2. Apples

Apples are one of the top detoxifying foods since they contain fiber, several vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, flavonoids, and terpenoids. They are wholesome fruits, and additionally, the fiber pectin in apples assists in eliminating toxins from the bloodstream.

3. Turmeric

For chronic inflammation issues, turmeric is a potent spice with anti-inflammatory benefits. It’s effective in warding off viral infections and is rich in curcumin, an active pharmacological agent with powerful anti-bacterial, antiseptic, anti-fungal, and anti-carcinogenic abilities.

4. Beetroot

Beets, specifically the dark red variety are another superfood that helps cleanse the liver. They are high in plant-flavonoids, beta-carotene, rich in iron, folates, phosphorus, vitamin C, copper, potassium, and manganese. So have it in a salad, or whip up a healthy smoothie.

5. Garlic

Garlic contains pungent sulfur compounds that trigger enzymes to enhance liver function. It also enables enzyme production to stimulate natural cleansing.  It is a great source of selenium and allicin, both agents that protect liver function.

Some preventive measures to safeguard your liver from toxins:

1. Avoid alcohol as much as possible

Alcohol in any form certifies as a toxin, and your liver will expend a large amount of energy trying to get rid of the alcohol to purify blood. During this process, usage of metabolic energy often leads to weight gain, sluggishness, fatigue, and sleepiness.

2. Flush with water

Use a water filtration system that removes the carbon and chlorine particles from drinking water. Flushing your liver is giving your body a good pre-wash so your blood stays at optimal pH levels.

3. Eat the freshest foods possible

Eating organic grains, fruits, and veggies is important since pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides can make them toxic while probably being carcinogenic.

4. Eat the right kind of fats

Eating healthy fats like almonds, coconut, walnuts, chia seeds, and flax seeds, along with pumpkin and sunflower seeds, olives, and avocado, are the viable sources you can make part of your diet.
